About Us

Answers to life’s hardest questions — for anyone willing to ask them.

Crossroads

Truths To Die For exists to answer life’s hardest questions — clearly, carefully, and from the heart of historic Christian faith.

Picture someone standing at a crossroads, heavy-laden and tired, looking up at a tangle of signposts all pointing different ways. God. Health and wealth. All roads lead to heaven. Easy answers to everything. Each promises to be the way. He wants the truth but doesn’t know which road to trust.

That’s not just a picture. For many of us, it’s where the search began.

Now, Scripture is honest about something uncomfortable here. It tells us that, left to ourselves, none of us actually goes looking for God at all — “no one seeks for God” (Romans 3:11). The crossroads is real, but the harder truth is that our hearts, on their own, would never choose the road marked God.

And yet — here is the whole reason this site exists — He came looking for us. The God who is sought turns out to be the God who seeks. The shepherd goes after the one lost sheep. That changes everything about why we do this. We’re not here because clever arguments save anyone; they don’t. We’re here because we believe God uses honest answers to draw confused and weary people to Himself — and we’ve been those people.

So everything here is free. No paywall, no advertising. Just careful answers to questions worth dying for.

What We Do

The internet is loud with competing claims about God, truth, and meaning. We try to offer something quieter and sturdier: answers grounded in Scripture and careful reasoning, written for real people rather than scholars.

Across our library you’ll find work on the existence of God, the reliability of the Bible, the person and work of Jesus Christ, the doctrines of grace, the Christian life, the church, last things, ethics, and the defence of the faith. We write for the believer who wants to go deeper, the sceptic testing the claims, and the curious visitor who simply wonders whether any of it is true.

We don’t think faith and reason are enemies. We think the Christian faith can be examined honestly and found trustworthy — and we’d be glad to walk through that with you.

Who It’s For

You. Whether you hold your faith with confidence or carry your questions like unopened letters, you’re welcome here. Believer, sceptic, seeker, or someone in between — if you’re after truth with an open mind, you’re exactly who we made this for.

Our Team

We’re a team of three, supported by spouses who cheer us on.

Shaju Alex spent his career leading editorial teams at newspapers and major finance companies — but his real calling runs deeper than words on a page. With his wife Susan, a college teacher and counsellor, he keeps an open home and shares the gospel with students. His love of apologetics is the engine behind this website. They’ve raised a son and daughter, both now married, and their home remains a place where young minds come to explore faith and reason.

Joel George blends business and creativity in equal measure — an operational lead at a multinational and an MBA, with a true passion for music. With his wife Neha, a singer and music teacher, he makes gospel music that reflects a shared love for Christ. He also writes, crafting prose whenever his schedule allows.

Rebecca Benson is a communications professor who loves helping others express ideas with clarity. With her husband Benson, who works in tech, she carries a burden for church plants and youth outreach — mentoring the next generation in their walk with Christ.

What We Believe in Brief

We stand in the historic Reformed tradition. We hold to the supreme authority of Scripture, the sovereignty of God in all things including salvation, the gravity of sin, and the sufficiency of Christ’s finished work. The fuller statement below sets out where we stand.

Our Statement of Faith

We affirm the following without reservation, as the framework for everything published here.

The Scriptures. We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life.
God. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness, sovereignty, wisdom, power, and love, who created all things for His own glory and upholds them by His providence.
Creation. We believe God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing, that creation displays His wisdom and power, and that humanity, made in His image, is the crown of His creative work.
Humanity and Sin. We believe that in Adam the human race fell from its original innocence into sin, that all people are by nature spiritually dead and guilty before God, and that none can save themselves.
Jesus Christ. We believe in the eternal Son of God, who became truly man without ceasing to be God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for sinners, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and reigns as Prophet, Priest, and King.
Salvation by Grace. We believe salvation is the work of God alone — that He chose a people for Himself before the foundation of the world, that Christ accomplished their redemption, that the Holy Spirit applies it, and that sinners are justified by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.
The Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, and preserves all who belong to Christ, conforming them to His image and empowering them for holy living and witness.
The Church. We believe the church is the body of Christ, gathered from every nation, called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, observe the ordinances, and build one another up in love.
Last Things. We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ, the bodily resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, eternal life for the redeemed, and eternal separation from God for the unrepentant.
The Defence of the Faith. We believe Christians are called to contend earnestly for the faith — to give a reasoned defence of the hope within them, with gentleness and respect.
